PURPOSE:
Production Packers will work in a team environment to ensure the plants objectives:
safety of our employees, the quality of the product, and maximizing operational efficiency in producing a quality product.
Responsibilities:
Work in a safe manner, following all safety rules and procedures.
Wear personal protective equipment as required.
Respond effectively in emergency situations.
Inspecting film/bags, completing paperwork and packing film/bags into cartons.
Visually inspect film/bags for defects and complete quality checks.
Verify weights and counts of product, while maintaining correct carton and skid counts.
Cutting cores and managing core and box inventory for lines.
Strip cores as needed.
Help pull bags, tag rolls and thread towers.
Weigh and manage scrap.
Shutting down machines in an appropriate fashion.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
and work 12-hour shifts.
Cleanliness and housekeeping are essential parts of the position.
Must be able to communicate and work well with others.
Attendance and punctuality are crucial aspects of this position.
All other duties as assigned.
PEFERRED
Qualifications:
2-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team setting.
Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and packaging specifications.
Ability to effectively communicate and present findings to a wide variety of audiences.
